Ellen Robinson, Executive Director
Ellen Robinson’s lifelong passion has been empowering individuals with disabilities and aging adults to live meaningful, self-directed, and fulfilling lives. She is honored to use her knowledge, experience, and dedication to support individuals and families while advocating for inclusion, dignity, and independence.
After more than two decades in education, Ellen retired from a rewarding career where she fulfilled her dream of serving as a Special Education Teacher. Throughout her career, she worked tirelessly to help students reach their fullest potential and build the skills necessary for success. Her professional certifications in the State of Texas include Generalist, Special Education, and Principal.
Ellen earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Northwood University and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) from The University of Texas at Arlington. Her educational background, combined with her extensive experience in special education and leadership, has provided a strong foundation for her work as Executive Director of Big Hearts Day Habilitation Center.
Ellen believes that every life experience has prepared her for her purpose of serving others. She is deeply committed to advocating for individuals who may be unable to advocate for themselves and to strengthening the community through compassionate leadership, meaningful relationships, and opportunities that promote independence and personal growth.
Under her leadership, Big Hearts Day Habilitation Center continues to provide a welcoming and supportive environment where individuals with disabilities and aging adults are valued, respected, and encouraged to thrive.

Josh Allen, Director Of Operations/Compliance
Josh Allen brings a diverse background of leadership, service, and community engagement to his role as Director of Operations and Compliance at Big Hearts Day Habilitation Center. His commitment to excellence, teamwork, and helping others has been a consistent theme throughout his professional career.
Josh attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies with a minor in Psychology. As a collegiate athlete, he developed the discipline, determination, and leadership skills that would later contribute to his success both on and off the field.
Following college, Josh began his professional football career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2014. After retiring from professional football, he continued his passion for serving others by becoming a Certified Personal Trainer, working with a diverse clientele to help individuals achieve their health and wellness goals.
Today, Josh proudly serves the community as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the City of Dallas, where he provides critical emergency services and compassionate care to those in need. His dedication to public service, safety, and advocacy makes him a valuable asset to the Big Hearts team.
As Director of Operations and Compliance, Josh utilizes his unique experiences in athletics, health and fitness, emergency services, and leadership to ensure that Big Hearts maintains the highest standards of care and operational excellence. He is passionate about helping individuals with disabilities and aging adults become active, engaged, and well-rounded members of the community while promoting opportunities for personal growth, independence, and meaningful participation.

Val Robinson, Activities Director
Val Robinson brings more than 40 years of experience serving older adults and individuals with disabilities through compassionate care, meaningful engagement, and person-centered programming. As the Activities Director at Big Hearts Day Habilitation Center, she is dedicated to developing enriching activities that promote social interaction, independence, personal growth, and overall well-being for every client.
Throughout her distinguished career, Val has worked extensively with individuals receiving services through MHMR programs as well as residents in long-term care and nursing home settings. Her experience as an Activities Director has provided her with a deep understanding of the importance of creating purposeful opportunities that encourage participation, foster relationships, and enhance quality of life.
Val is passionate about helping individuals discover their strengths, talents, and interests while creating an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and included. Her warm personality, creativity, and dedication to service make her an integral part of the Big Hearts team and a trusted advocate for those she serves.
In addition to her professional experience, Val holds an Associate of Theology (A.Th.) degree from Grace International Seminary. Her faith, compassion, and commitment to serving others are reflected in her daily interactions and her unwavering dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of clients and their families.
Through her leadership and enthusiasm, Val helps ensure that Big Hearts Day Habilitation Center remains a welcoming, engaging, and supportive community where individuals can thrive and enjoy meaningful experiences each day.

Irais Zamudio, Registered Nurse
Ira Zamudio is a dedicated Registered Nurse at Big Hearts Day Habilitation Center. With over a decade of experience in healthcare, Ira brings a wealth of knowledge and a compassionate approach to patient care. Ira is committed to providing high-quality, personalized care to each individual at the center.
Ira's journey in nursing began with a passion for helping others, which led to earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas A&M University, College Station. Since then, Ira has expanded her expertise through ongoing education and hands-on experience in various healthcare settings.
At Big Hearts Day Habilitation Center, Ira is known for her exceptional rapport with patients, meticulous attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to improving the quality of life for all clients. Ira's ability to connect with patients and their families, combined with a proactive approach to health and wellness, makes her an invaluable member of the Big Hearts team.
