VOLUNTEER

Volunteers are essential to Big Hearts success. If you are ready to make an impact assisting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, we have a place for you! Please fill out the Background consent form, save it as a pdf and email it back to Big Hearts. 

Volunteer Program Presenter. This position is for volunteers who wish to lead enrichment activities for our Clients. Activities may include instruction in improvisation, puppetry, dramatic readings, music, dance, yoga, Zumba classes or other unique talents. 

Professional Support. This is a great opportunity to support our mission. We have a need for administrative support, social media expertise or graphic design either ongoing or on a project-by-project basis.

Landscaping. Do you have a green thumb? Our indoor/outdoor entry area is small but benefits from seasonal plantings. This is a fun opportunity for a small team-building activity.

Practicums. Students are invited to inquire about practicums appropriate for their field of study in Education. Practicums are overseen by Big Hearts Executive Director, Ellen Robinson. Ms. Robinson has more than 20 years of Special Education experience including being a certified EC-4 teacher, a certified EC -12 Special Education Teacher and certified EC-12 Principal in the State of Texas. Ms. Robinson earned her BBA from Northwood University, she earned her M.Ed. degree from the University Of Texas at Arlington in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. She is currently continuing her education at Grand Canyon University in pursuit of her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership. 

Internships. Students desiring experience in Strategic Brand Development, Communications, Non-profit Leadership or Entrepreneurships are encouraged to contact Big Hearts Executive Director, Ellen Robinson. 

You do not have to have any experience to volunteer. Big Hearts will train you in supporting our Clients.
